Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer´s office is looking for contributions
from hate groups among the thousands of donations to a fund set up to
defend her state´s immigration law from legal challenges. A white
supremacist group announced that it donated.
American Third Position, which "exists to represent the
political interests of White Americans because no one else will," said
it made a "triple-digit" donation to the fund on its website, saying the
law fights the "browning of America."
The governor´s office says it will reject any funds from hate
groups. Arizona Democrats say it is "ridiculous" to suggest that racists
are not "enjoying this immigration debate." The fund has grown to about
$1.2 million from about 24,000 donations.
