Divorce lawyers in the United States have said that Facebook and
other social media are being used more and more for evidence in divorce
cases, with 66% of lawyers surveyed saying that Facebook foibles are
used for online evidence.
In many cases the oversharing is in small doses, and while those
can´t be stated specifically, there are some instances of a husband in
court denying he has problems with anger issues, yet posting aggressive
information about himself on his profile.
Another case included a mother who denied she smoked marijuana,
only to post photos of herself partying and smoking pot on Facebook.
Divorce lawyers encourage their clients to close down their profiles so
judges and others can´t access them.
